Leslie is a Florida native from Lake County who earned a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater from the University of Central Florida. After spending five years working in the entertainment industry, Leslie’s interest in people’s stories and experiences led to a career shift into therapy. Inspired by personal experiences in therapy, Leslie returned to school and earned a Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from UCF in 2018.
Leslie began her clinical career at a nonprofit agency, where she worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and individuals experiencing substance use and mental health concerns. Her clinical approach is grounded in an existential perspective and incorporates evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and systemic approaches to relationships and sexuality.
In 2020, Leslie became a Certified Florida Sex Therapist through the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes (MSTI) and went on to complete a PhD in Clinical Sexology in 2023. As a sex-positive therapist, Leslie works with individuals and couples to explore relationships, intimacy, sexuality, identity, communication, and the patterns that can interfere with living a fulfilling life. She incorporates the PLISSIT model of sex therapy alongside systemic and sex therapy approaches to provide a thoughtful, individualized framework for addressing sexual concerns.
In addition to her clinical work, Leslie founded and grew Worthwhile Therapy into a group practice designed to meet the diverse and evolving needs of the Lake County community. By bringing together therapists with different areas of expertise, backgrounds, and clinical approaches, Worthwhile Therapy offers support for a wide range of concerns, including individual and relationship therapy, sexuality and sex therapy, trauma, adolescents and young adults, and other mental health needs.
Leslie views therapy as a collaborative process and a tool for helping people navigate life’s challenges with greater awareness, flexibility, and intention. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, she works with clients to understand the underlying patterns contributing to their struggles and identify meaningful ways to create change. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel understood, challenged, and supported as they move toward a life and relationships that feel more authentic and worthwhile.
